Had a Email from  Philippa 8.15am, her husband Rowan had the misfortune of losing his Wedding Ring at the high tide mark Karewa Parade Papamoa
Met them and marked the area where it was lost and started going from the dry sand to the high Tide mark and not long before we had a happy camper with the ring found under 5 cm of sand

Nice to have met you both

Still Here
Been over a year since I last posted as there has not been a lot to report on

The beach has been a bit bare only the occasional good find when the tide has done it's thing exposing new spots with the usual coins in various states of corrosion

Have done a few ring recoveries and a couple of no can find cases but has been interesting

The latest one only last week with a email from Fotina and Chris with Chris losing his Wedding Ring in the dry sand after some family fireworks

After a couple of minutes up came a White Gold Wedding Ring ,very happy couple again

The Recovery day was the warmest so far this season but they have gone again

Last 6 Weeks

Not a lot happening lately but there has been the odd day that un-earthed a few finds.
These came from the Mount Main Beach which included a 10.7 gram 925 Silver Ring.
This day had to battle with some very unruly kids which ended up fighting over coins as I dug them, got to the stage of having Goldie's showing and me saying they were rubbish and going back after an hour after they had gone and collecting them

Went to a well known Park on the inner Harbour  and had a play around in the water which I have looked before but with a lot more hours on the E-trac came up with these

Most of the older coins have suffered from bad corrosion,2 English Half pennies,1 English Shilling,1 English Penny with only a Half Penny showing 1920 and a Silver Ring 4.7 grams
1 NZ Shlling and 2 Sixpences 1 1936,all coins came up black after being in the mud

And the last week saw some nice cuts opening up with one outside a popular surf club which gave up over $60 in coins, with what I was finding was hoping for some Gold but no luck this time

The Month of June

And plenty of walking for this lot and 1Silver Ring 7.3 grams at the Main Beach.
Was hoping for a Gold but not this time

Very few coins were found on the Main Beach most coming from subtle cuts that would develop in various places with most coming in the last week with the change in the lunar cycle

Heaps of lead as usual and other fishing gear and a zillion can tabs (must be getting rid of them by now) still rather dig them as some sound like Gold

Finds for the month

Have not been finding a lot during the past month with the Beaches being pretty well sanded up and less people around just waiting for a few cuts to open up and more jewellery

One silver Mother of Pearl Ring, cellphone(dead) and 2 Watches both not going as found below the high tide mark and had water in them
Found also a few sections of a Divers weight belt about a Kilo each(no pic)

The last week the Mount has still been producing though yesterday had found the Beach in a few places had  sanded up though still found Silver

Last Weekend produced a 9ct Gold (2.8 grams)

This was followed a couple of days later by Titanium

And lastly an Old Silver Ring

Plenty of the coins have quite bad corrosion, have found of late the Bank has been refusing the ones with perforations in them
